Assignment 3
These images were equally reliant on diffusion and reflection of the single light source. In the first image I wanted to position the light in a way that would allow the model to hide from it, evoking shyness. However I also wanted to keep her jaw line lit as it was a striking feature, so I had a reflector placed low behind her right shoulder (camera left) to bounce some additional light onto the side of her face.
The second image was meant to evoke confidence, so the model and light source were placed facing each other almost head on, as in a confrontation. Again a reflector was used to sharpen the highlight on her jaw and neck.
